Saree in the time of Corona

This is our very first blog post and we obviously wanted it to be special. March is a special month that celebrates women. It also possesses the excitement of St. Patrick's day and the promise of first blossoms. Not to forget the quintessential Indian festival, HOLI. We had imagined an image with us in a white saree and a big splash of color in the background. For foodies like us, the month of March also marks the arrival of mangoes in the Indian market. Our very first blog post could have celebrated any of these occasions.

But this year, March has been swallowed by, you guessed it, Covid-19. I am sure you are inundated with news reports that predict impending doom, Whatsapp messages with home remedies for the virus and, we admit, some funny memes.

While we continue to wash our hands often, sanitize everything in sight and panic over the rising number of With our first ever blog, we decided to change the topic a little, AND more importantly change out of our pajamas.

Put on some lipstick and draped a gorgeous ShellySenSaree. Where did we go you ask? Nowhere -just to our respective kitchens to drink some chai.





We realize this is a challenging time for a lot of people and we hope we have brought a spot of joy, especially with this picture of Shelly and her jhaadu (broom)!
